Wimbledon is once again on everyone’s lips as the great sporting summer gets underway and this year the tournament is full of intrigue as to who will be champion.

The women’s trophy will be won by a different champion for the seventh consecutive year after Marketa Vondrousova crashed out in the first round and the men’s trophy will be furiously contested by Carlos Alcaraz, Novak Djokovic, Jannik Sinner or some of the other new faces on the block. We know the contenders and now we’ve created odds on who will present the trophy to them.

It’s been a difficult year for the Royal Family and Wimbledon presents the perfect chance to put their best foot forward. We currently have the Princess of Wales, who has presented the trophy every year since 2019, leading the odds as most likely to present the Wimbledon trophy, followed by William, the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Kent, Prince Edward.

Odds on appearing in Royal box for the final

Tennis is a big passion of the royal family with Prince William, Princess Catherine and their children often appearing in the crowd at the Championships. With a smaller pool of working royals this year we could see a few different faces in the royal box for the finals and perhaps, it could be a chance for the King and Queen to step out in public for a high-profile low workload public engagement.

Rainfall

It’s not just royals that we Brits love. We also love the weather. In 1997 Wimbledon saw the wettest tournament since records began with 118m of rainfall. It’s unlikely we’ll see anywhere near that amount, but the weather is changing, and we expect the umbrellas to be out soon.

Most tournament Aces

Over the years there have been some big dominant servers. In 2018 John Isner hit 214 aces, could that be beaten this year? Last year Chris Eubanks hit 102, which seems much more achievable. The current favourite is Alexander Bubik who hit a remarkable 32 in his first match. A deep run should see him in with good chance.
